Soyuz MS-23 to dock with orbital station soon

Moscow, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) The Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft, which will return three cosmonauts to Earth, will dock with the International Space Station (ISS) on February 26th, announced Russia’s Roscosmos Space Agency.

The corporation explained on Telegram that the damage suffered by Progress MS-21 and Progress MS-22 ships, which caused a refrigerant leak from their thermal control systems, was most likely caused by external impacts.

The information obtained allowed the State Commission to decide on the possibility of an unmanned launch of the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft to the ISS, scheduled for February 24th, with docking to the station two days later, Roscosmos said.

According to the entity, the space ship is intended to replace the damaged Soyuz MS-22 and return to Earth with the Russian crew, cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dimitri Petelin and also with the American astronaut Francisco Rubio.

Roscosmos also specified that this return should take place in September, but in case of needs, the ship can be used at any time.
