The Commission for Arab and International Relations of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance (Hizbullah) said that denying the Israeli delegation presence during the Summit, constitutes an irrefutable proof of the rejection of attempts to reconciliate with Tel Aviv.
The head of the Lebanese-Algerian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Qassem Hashem, stressed that the AU’s response to the Israeli delegation is not surprising, it is an assurance of the defense of true Arabism, whose basis is the struggle of the Palestinian people.
The Progressive Socialist Party spoke highly of the region’s position and praised the leadership of Algeria and South Africa as “the active voice and support for the Palestinian cause in the AU against Israeli aggression.”
The Islamic Unity Movement also considered that Tel Aviv’s maneuvers to normalize relations with societies, be they Arab, Islamic or otherwise, will fail and be a waste of time.
Over the weekend during the 36th session of the Summit, Israeli Foreign Ministry Deputy Director General for Africa Sharon Bar-Li was respectfully but determinedly expelled from the room by the security force.
