On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister alluded to a report by the non-governmental organization Oxfam, which revealed that “out of every $100 of world wealth generated in the last ten years, $54 ended up in hands of the world´s 1% richest people and only $0.70 were received by the world´s 50% poorest population”.
According to Oxfam, climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic and other elements caused an unprecedented crisis, in which millions of human beings are presently facing hunger, inflation and lack of access to basic necessities.
Billionaires´ wealth climbed to $2,7B a day.
The text specified that poverty grew for the first time in 25 years, but the richest became dramatically richer and corporate profits reached record levels.
