The move comes after attorneys for Baldwin filed a motion this past month to have the firearm enhancement charge dropped, arguing prosecutors were incorrect.

The 64-year-old actor still has to face a trial for involuntary manslaughter, but with this decision the charges will be downgraded if Baldwin and Hannah Gutiérrez-Reed -the film´s armorer – were convicted.

After this decision, Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed could be facing a reduced charge of 18-months imprisonment, according to the BBC.
