Maneiro told the press that a rise in the minimum retirement age would have impacted female employees.
The workers’ representative at the BPS said that women will have to work until 65 years of age “and we will be paid less.”
She criticized that the initiative promoted by the government maintains the salary gap between men and women.
She said that in the current bill, female workers would retire with less by the changing the method that will average the last 25 working years.
The retirement reform is under debate by a special commission of the Chamber of Deputies after being approved by the Senate.
