Republican Greene lashes out at US President’s visit to Ukraine

Washington, Feb 20 (Prensa Latina) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday criticized that President Joe Biden chose Ukraine over visiting Ohio affected by train derailment.

On Twitter, Greene posted that Joe Biden -on the President’s Day- ignored domestic responsibilities by not visiting “East Palestine, Ohio,” where some 50 rail cars containing toxic substances went off the track past February 3.

“He went to Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, and whose leader is an actor and apparently now in command of our U.S. military in the world war,” Greene said over Biden’s surprise visit to Ukraine.

In her remarks, Greene also resurrected her calls for a “national divorce” between Republican and Democratic states.

“We need to separate the red states and the blue states and shrink the federal government,” Greene said.

Analysts indicated the motives behind these statements are unclear, but warned that this is not the first time Greene has suggested the idea of a national division.

In late 2021, she told voters who ruined California should not be allowed to do the same to a state like Florida.

“After Democrats and big donors ruin a state like California, you would think it wise to prevent them from doing it to another big state like Florida. Everything is possible in a national divorce scenario,” she stressed.

Taylor Greene, also known by her initials, MTG, is often criticized for her extremist comments, and promoting anti-Semitic and far-right conspiracy theories, including the QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

In January 2022, she was suspended from her Twitter account for posting misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccine, and is also a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump.
