According to the first information, the earth tremor, with its epicenter south of the city of Antioquia, was also felt in neighboring countries and there is still no data on possible new damage or victims.
The national emergency service (AFAD) reported on Monday that search work continued in 15 landslides in Hatay.
So far, according to the AFAD, there have been more than 41,150 deaths while approximately one million people are living in tents, prefabricated houses or some temporary shelter institution. The latest figures released by the Ministry of Urban Planning indicate that 20,000 buildings, totaling 71,000 homes or offices, have collapsed in the all 11 damaged provinces.
The AFAD has set up some 300,000 tents for the survivors and plans to put at least 100,000 prefabricated houses into service in the next two months.
Hatay is one of Türkiye’s 81 provinces, located in the south of the country, on the Mediterranean coast.
