Most-affected regions in the last week were Biobío, Antofagasta, O’Higgins and Magallanes.

According to MINSAL´s latest report, out of 4,531 coronavirus-infected patients 89 of them remain hospitalized in ICUs. The remaining patients face a five-day at-home screening or in Health Residences.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Chile has reached 5,146,020 infections and 64,053 deaths.

As autumn and winter approach, local health authorities called on population to get vaccinated with the bivalent vaccine, which protects from both the original strain of SARS-CoV-2 and the Omicron variant.

The vaccine is applied to those over 50 years of age, immunocompromised or chronically-ill people, and workers in different sectors including health, transportation, education, among others.
