The Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament said in a dispatch that some US congressmen are taking advantage of the incident “adding fuel to the fire and making clear the sinister intentions to contain China.”
The document rejected accusations against Beijing of allegedly engaging in spying activities with the balloon and considers this is a part of the political manipulation to exaggerate the “Chinese threat” theory.
“We demand the US Congress respect the events, the spirit of international laws, and the basic principles of international relations. Stop defamation, and refrain from taking actions that exacerbate the situation,” the text stated.
The note reiterated the accidental entry of the balloon into US skies while reminding that Washington does interfere in the internal affairs of other nations, surveils over them, and violates their sovereignty.
In the text, China insisted in building bilateral ties based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation which serve both parties’ interests and meet the international community’s expectations.
Last week, the Lower Chamber of the US Congress unanimously approved a resolution condemning China over a massive air balloon surveillance program.
