Although all Israeli settlements are illegal under the international community and the UN Security Council, Israel distinguished between those authorized and those not.
As part of its Government’s program, the Netanyahu-headed coalition approved the legalization of 65 outposts in the West Bank in late 2022.
According to several sources, more than 450,000 Israeli settlers live in 132 settlements and 147 outposts across the West Bank, and 200,000 others in East Jerusalem.
