In a press interview quoted by the national media, the senior official said the situation this nation is experiencing is difficult as a result of the earthquake and the US and European coercive measures further aggravate the suffering of those affected.
Washington alleges that it allowed the entry of humanitarian aid, but this is not true, and Western governments look at the situation from a political and not a humanitarian point of view, Shaaban commented on the recent US decision to partially and temporarily freeze sanctions, according to a White House announcement.
She asserted that the United States is committing a crime against the Syrian people by preventing any country from extending a helping hand to the Arab country.
There are people trapped under the rubble, and the cranes and heavy machinery become real humanitarian aid because this equipment can save lives, however we cannot purchase it or get spare parts for the vehicles we have, she denounced.
According to the adviser, the European states have not provided any help to deal with the repercussions of the earthquake, even many Syrian expatriates in these countries are trying to transfer money to help those affected by the earthquake, but none of them could do so due to the sanctions.
She considered that Damascus “is on the right side of history and stands with Russia and China and the countries that see the multipolar world as a human necessity to put an end to Western hegemony.”
