The Lebanese Islamic Resistance (Hizbullah) issued a statement emphasizing the urgency of putting all capacities at the service of the Syrian government and people, and called for the widest participation in the solidarity campaign. Hizbullah also summoned those wishing to provide assistance, to go to the civil defense centers affiliated with Health Authorities in all Lebanese regions.
The Union of Municipal Workers and Employees of the South denounced the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people by means of the “Caesar Act” and called on the Islamic and Arab nations to break the sanctions and open bridges of urgent aid.
The National Meeting of Agricultural Organizations also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and stop the unjust and inhumane war against the Syrian State and people.
Representatives of civil organizations insisted on the needs to transcend political calculations and respect the sanctity of the tragedy, in order to mobilize all available capacities to support the victims, the displaced and the mourners in the affected areas, without exception. They also decided to prepare convoy transporting food, medical and relief supplies to the destroyed areas, in addition to the opening of economic donations.
Lebanon opened its ports and airports to companies and agencies to transport humanitarian aid to Syria, duty-free.
