Iranian deputy foreign minister reaffirms support for Lebanon (+Photo)

Beirut, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani reaffirmed in this capital the Islamic Republic's support and willingness to strengthen relations with Lebanon in light of the worsening crisis.

In the context of an official visit, Bagheri Kani, who is also an Iranian chief nuclear negotiator, emphasized that his country will always support sister Lebanese nation and spare no effort to ensure a better future and a prosperous life for its people.

Talking to Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, the Iranian diplomat stated that the Lebanese political elites and its citizens have enough awareness, insight, and wisdom to independently and freely decide the future of their nation, away from any external dictates.

Bagheri Kani described the bilateral relations as historic and long-standing. “This is what enables us, as two countries, two governments, and two peoples, to enhance the level of cooperative ties in several fields more than ever,” he assured.

Bagheri Kani’s visit comes less than a month after Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian toured Beirut and reiterated his country’s support to the Lebanese people, army, and resistance, as well as the willingness to expand economic and trade exchange.
