The media also reported that air defense was activated in the province of Kiev, as well as in the regions of Kirovogrado, Nikolaev, Poltava, Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Ivano-Frankovsk, Khmelnitsky and Krivoi Rog.

The military administrations of the said cities and of Odesa and Dniepropetrovsk reported explosions at energy infrastructure facilities, causing outages and brownouts and communications failures.

Explosions and power failure were also reported in the part of Zaporozhye province under Kiev´s control, as well as damage to power facilities.

Russia began launching air strikes against energy, command, communication and military production facilities of the Ukrainian army since last October 10th in response to an attack against the Kerch bridge that links the Crimean peninsula with the territory of the Russian Federation.
