The dossier, included in latest official report on migration published in IDOS´s official website, showed overall immigration rate in 2021 was equal to five immigrants per thousand inhabitants, with an increased 1.2% compared to previous year.
Positive variation was reported for all areas of origin, although to lesser extent for European nations with an increased 12.3%.
There was a marked 55.0% rise concerning Asian migration rate, 32.0% from the Americas, and 25.0% from Africa.
Among European countries, Albania is rating second in migration flows reporting over 22,000 migrants, up 28.4% compared to 2020, followed by Ukraine with 9,000 (68.6% higher than in 2021), even though data referred to the period prior to the conflict.
Migration flows from Africa were too important, particularly from Morocco, reporting more than 15,000 (23% more than in 2020), as well as from Egypt with 8,000 migrants (40%). From the Asia, Bangladesh reported 15,000 (for an increased 87%); from Pakistan with 14,000 (48% higher than in 2020); and from India with an increased 56%.
