“Good morning. Today I am setting out to the United States, where I will meet with President Joe Biden at the White House,” Lula wrote on social media.
Lula assured that both presidents want to “build relations of partnership and growth between our countries for the development of our region, discuss actions for peace in the world and against fake news.”
The two leaders would address the coup attacks suffered by both countries, official sources indicated.
Supporters of defeated candidate in the elections, former US President Donald Trump, attacked the Capitol building and ransacked the place on January 6, 2021.
Coup perpetrators invaded the headquarters of the Three Powers of the State in Brasília on January 8, 2023, and destroyed much of the premises.
