The Minister of Telecommunications, Mário Oliveira, will be in charge of the official presentation, in which experts from the sector will offer information on the performance and technical characteristics of the satellite, as well as the business plan.
According to press release, they expect the presence at the event of managers from different state agencies, businessmen, academics and representatives of non-governmental organizations, among other participants.
The Russian-made satellite was launched into space on October 12th from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan and is stationed in geostationary orbit since November 2022.
According to the Government, Angosat-2 will be in charge of telecommunications, security and defense bodies, agriculture, mineral resources, the preservation of nature and the environment, medicine and coping with climatic adversities.It is considered a High Speed Transmission satellite.
The orbiter is at an altitude of 36,000 kilometers, and is capable of covering the African continent, mainly the southern region, and a significant part of southern Europe, the Ministry explained when it endorsed the success of the project along with the Russian side.
On January 27th, President João Lourenço inaugurated in Funda, Luanda province, the Satellite Mission and Control Center for the management of Angosat-2.
