During his stay in the UK, Zelensky held talks with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, gave a speech to the joint houses of the British parliament and was received by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
In his speech to UK Parliament, the Ukrainian leader made a direct plea for more heavy weaponry, including fighter jets.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister told the press that Sunak called for the British army to envisage supplying fighter jets to the Ukrainian armed forces, yet he specified this could only be a long-term solution.
Russia, on the other hand, promised to respond whether the UK sends fighter jets to Ukraine and warned of an escalated conflict.
In a Wednesday´s statement, the Russian embassy in London announced its country will find a response to any hostile action taken by the UK.
