According to the China Daily newspaper, the said entity will deliver 200,000 dollars to each of its counterparts in those countries to help them in rescue and recovery efforts.

In addition, the president of the Chinese Red Cross Society, Chen Zhu, sent a message of condolences to Türkiye and Syria, and assured that the institution will keep abreast of events to provide more assistance in accordance with the needs of the two countries.

Yesterday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with Türkiye and Syria for the loss of many lives and the devastation in infrastructures.

The Agency for International Development and Cooperation also reported that it maintains communications with the governments of Türkiye and Syria to provide them with emergency humanitarian aid according to their needs.

The earthquake shook towns in Türkiye and Syria, in the early hours of this Monday, followed by a chain of strong aftershocks that caused the collapse of many buildings and left thousands of people trapped under the rubble.

The tremors were also felt in neighboring countries such as Lebanon, and it is estimated that the number of deaths and injuries could increase as the rubble of thousands of collapsed buildings is cleared out.
