Russia thanks African nations for balanced policy

Moscow, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) Oleg Ozerov, Russian Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, told RIA Novosti that Moscow is grateful to African countries for their balanced and reasonable policies towards Russia.

“We are very grateful to the African countries for their balanced and reasonable policy towards Russia, this also applies to Egypt,” said the Russian diplomat.

According to Ozerov, Russia sees that despite Western pressure, many African countries have taken an “officially neutral position” on the situation in Ukraine.

The second Russia-Africa summit is scheduled for July 2023, St. It will be held in St. Petersburg. The first Russia-Africa summit was held in Sochi in 2019 with the participation of most African heads of state.

As Ozerov previously noted, the second forum will be largely devoted to economic and humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and African countries, including food and energy security.
