The humanitarian aid, which included food baskets and school supplies, was managed by the Russian Coordination Center based at the Hemeimim Russian base in the coastal province of Latakia.
We will continue supporting the Syrian people to face these difficult circumstances, said Oleg Egorov, Russian Coordination Center Deputy Head.
Father Daniel Nehme, pastor of St. George’s Church which was recently reopened in this city thanks to Moscow’s support, expressed his gratitude for this gesture that constitutes a moral and material support for children in schools and vulnerable families.
We thank Moscow for this supportive initiative that has had a positive impact on residents, said Irbin Mayor Ratib Shahrour.
As claimed by Moscow, the Russian Army’s assistance to Syria contributed to the 90% liberation of its territory from terrorism.
Plus, over 3,500 humanitarian aid operations have been conducted since 2015, where about 600,000 tons of food, medicines and basic materials were sent.
