On his Twitter account, the head of State mentioned the latest report on the effects of Washington’s blockade on Cuba, according to which “the accumulated damage in 60 years amounts to 144.413 billion dollars.”
“The Cuban people’s suffering cannot be quantified,” the president stressed.
Also on Twitter, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez highlighted the Cuban people’s resistance and victories against the US blockade.
Rodriguez stressed that on February 3, 1962, US President John F. Kennedy formalized the system of “the most severe, prolonged, and inhumane coercive measures applied against any nation.”
According to Cuban authorities, the blockade has been intensified in recent years to unprecedented levels, and an example of this is that from August 2021 to February 2022, Cuba reported losses of 3.806 billion dollars.
