As explained on the website www.radio26.cu, promoting the use of chemical-free substances and improving eating habits in the Cuban family, based on natural and dehydrated products, becomes the main goal of the entity.
The agronomist and leader of the institution, Javier Falcon, said that Salud&Vida is inserted within the micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSM) that commercialize food in Matanzas with the purpose of supporting the nutrition of the population.
Products made without any chemical additives and based on food that has a high energy intake and ideal sources of vitamins for inclusion in a balanced diet of minerals (calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, fiber) allow their consumption for diabetic, hypertensive and celiac patients, he said.
Falcon noted that with 25 production lines, with emphasis on food made from different parts of fruits and dehydrated species, the company’s food maintains up to 80 percent of nutrients of their natural version, in evidence of the nutritional value of each one of them.
The website points out that Salud&Vida responds to the country’s policy to meet the objectives of achieving and strengthening food and nutritional sovereignty and progressively guaranteeing a healthier diet in Cuba in order to improve quality of life.
The province of Matanzas currently maintains 131 local development projects in execution with a great diversity of economic stakeholders, including 370 MSMs, 98 state companies and 224 agricultural cooperatives that promote the search for food security among their objectives.
