Panezo, who is also the head of the National Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba in Panama, attended the 5th International Conference for the World’s Balance, which concluded on Saturday and paid tribute to Cuban poet, journalist and revolutionary Jose Marti on his 170th birthday.
The Panamanian activist told Prensa Latina that at that meeting attended by more than 1,000 delegates from 90 countries, they expressed their commitment to defending the Revolution that triumphed in 1959.
According to Panezo, a teacher by profession, there were several emotional moments, among which she mentioned greeting Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel; and the meetings with the members of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).
In Cuba, the Panamanian delegation, which also included Susana Vazquez, visited the Ernesto Che Guevara Sculpture Complex in Santa Clara, and the 10 de Octubre Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital in Havana. At the latter, they verified the high quality of the services they provide to the community and they promised to continue contributing with the solidarity donations of medical supplies.
The visit to Cuba allowed us to walk its streets and verify the reality of the people who do not deny the difficulties they face due to the cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade, but who also demonstrate that their love for their Homeland is stronger than any adversity, she remarked.
