On its Twitter account, the Foreign Ministry noted that “today the world once again demands an end to the blockade against Cuba.”
It stressed that “Bridges of Love and solidarity are built against this genocidal policy.”
On Sunday, in more than 20 cities in the United States, friends of Cuba are demanding the construction of bridges of love with Cuba and an end to coercive measures by Washington and in favor of rapprochement between the two peoples.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the coordinator of the Bridges of Love solidarity project, Professor Carlos Lazo, pointed out that the initiative will also pay tribute to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti on his170th birthday on Saturday.
He explained that Sunday’s demonstrations are intended to obtain contributions to take powdered milk to pediatric hospitals in Cuba, as well as to reiterate the request to President Joe Biden to delete Cuba from the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
The solidarity caravans take place on the last weekend of every month and, among other demands, they defend the family reunification program, sending of remittances and trips to Cuba, affected by the more than 240 measures taken during the Donald Trump administration (2017 -2021).
