According to Zhaparov, with the signing of the border treaty, the issue that both Central Asian states have been debating since 1991, when the Soviet Union ceased to exist, will come to an end.
The Kyrgyz leader stressed that cooperation with Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy.
He also said, that in addition to the border settlement, both leaders signed a declaration on a comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
