Cuban Ambassador to Italy Mirta Granda noted that Marti was defined by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, as “the idea of good,” a thought that “calls us because we need days dedicated to growth and brotherhood.”
Cuban Ambassador in the Holy See Rene Mujica, and International Italo-Latin American (IILA) Organization Secretary General Antonella Cavallari also attended the ceremony.
Also present were a representation of the diplomatic staff accredited in this country, the international organizations in Rome and at the Holy See, Cuban residents in Italy, and members of the associations of solidarity with Cuba, among other participants.
Later, the Cuban ambassadors to Italy and the Holy See, the community of Cuban residents here, and several Cuba friendship associations laid wreaths at the Jose Marti Monument.
