The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) highlighted that in the last year they raised eight billion dollars, 1.7 billion more than in 2021.

23,851 ships passed through the Canal during the year, with a total weight of 1,400 million tons, the SCA said.

The canal connects the Mediterranean and the Red Seas. It is the shortest sea route between Asia and Europe and the fastest crossing between the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.
