According to informations published this Friday on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov and his Eritrean counterpart, Isaías Afewerki, agreed on the mechanism that will also allow economic and investment issues to be addressed.
The Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Eritrea last Thursday, as part of an African tour that previously took him to South Africa, Eswatini and Angola.
Lavrov said that Russia and Eritrea seek to promote bilateral trade and direct contacts between their companies so as to develop joint projects in mining, energy, agriculture, information technology and other sectors.
Concrete measures will also be examined so that their cooperation may not be affected by illegal sanctions from the West, said the head of Russian diplomacy at the end of a meeting with his local counterpart.
