Lavrov was seen off by his Angolan counterpart, Téte António, at the Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda.
The ambassadors Vladimir Tararov and Augusto da Silva Cunha, and the head of the Directorate for Europe of the Angola Foreign Ministry, Júlio Maiato, also participated in the ceremony.
According to the press release, the two states will hold the 6th Session of the Intergovernmental Bilateral Commission in Luanda, from April 17th to 21th.
Both countries have shown interests in strengthening trade relations through the creation of public-private partnerships, especially in the fields of manufacturing, agribusiness, fishing, energy, geology, and mining, among other sectors considered priorities for the diversification of Angola´s economy.
The Russia-Africa Summit will also be held in July this year under the theme “Peace, Security and Development”, aimed at strengthening cooperation with Africa, said the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
