In statements to Al Arabiya English, some confessed that they are in a race to recruit a group of specialists available from those corporations.
The average SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) would not usually be able to go to Microsoft and get employees. The layoffs opened up the market for talents, James Toffrey, Managing Director at recruitment firm Cloud Source, told the media.
The firm is actively looking to recruit former employees at big tech firms and is currently hiring for about 200 positions worldwide for clients in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, Toffrey stated.
Around 70 to 80 percent of the contracts made by Cloud Source on behalf of companies in the Gulf, come from outside the region, the managing director said.
In recruiting experts, the region’s countries will be a technology power within a decade, so it is the best time to tap departing technicians and specialists from tech giants.
