In a Political Statement, issued by its delegation in Madrid this Wednesday,Western Sahara community group, deplored changes of the Spanish Government´s position and the attitude of the European Union (EU).

The text was issued during the recently concluded 16th Congress of the leading organization of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) held in Dakhla´s Wilaya , one of the refugee camps in Algerian territory.

Without ambiguity, the document stressed “the shameful position of Pedro Sanchez, President of Spain, which is in complete contradiction with the legal, historical and moral responsibility of Spain towards the Saharawi people and also with the traditional position of the political forces of the Spaniard people and its civil society.”

Among the positions defended by the Polisario meeting,was the appealed to the Spanish State to abandon its current position and devote efforts “to contribute positively to the decolonization of the territory and end the sufferings caused to the Saharawi people.”
