Spoljaric and the ICRC representatives will spend two days in the country, during which they will hold meetings with government officials and the Ethiopian Red Cross Society.The ICRC office in the capital reported that they will also meet with directors of the African Union to discuss aid to people affected by conflicts in Africa.
As reported by the Government Communication Service, they will analyze the impact of the armed confrontation between the federal army and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front in the north of the country.
They will also evaluate how international humanitarian assistance is progressing in Afar, Amhara and Tigray, the regions most affected by the war, after the peace agreement signed in November 2022.
