Foreign Minister to speak on behalf of Venezuela at CELAC Summit

Buenos Aires, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) On Tuesday, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil will speak on behalf of his Government at the 7th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

On his Twitter account, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy assured that, in the face of aggression by the fascist right wing, we would make every effort to take care of our leading integration mechanism.

A communiqué issued by the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs informed on Monday that Gil would head the delegation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the CELAC Summit, after plans of aggression against the delegation led by President Nicolas Maduro were made public.

The text charged that they were notified in the last few hours of a plan designed by the neo-fascist right wing, whose aim is to carry out a series of aggression against our delegation led by the head of State.

Given this scenario of plans designed by right-wing extremists against the development and successful completion of the Summit, “we have made the decision” of sending Foreign Minister Gil as head of the Venezuelan delegation, the press release added.
