“An attempted terrorist attack by a supporter of nationalist ideology was prevented in the territory of the North Caucasus,” the statement stressed.

According to the investigation, the terrorist is a Russian citizen, who to carry out the action, was in communication with the Ukrainian special services .

“After the capture, a search was conducted in the detainee’s house; ready-to-use terror items were found and confiscated,” the FSB reported.

The FSB officers opened a criminal case under an article about preparing for a confessed terrorist attack.

“I was an agent of the Ukrainian special services. My call sign was Aleksandr. Following their instructions, I had to go to the North Caucasus Federal District and commit a terrorist attack against the police. I regret my deed, I admit my guilt,” declared the would-be perpetrator.

The FSB authorities published a video where the culprit expresses his intentions to attack the police.
