The original Tu-95MSM is a strategic missile-carrying bomber outfitted with a new radar and navigation system, an airborne defense complex, and is powered by four Kuznetsov NK-12MPM turboprop engines (also upgraded) manufactured by Tupolev company.
Its maiden flight took place back in 1952 and it entered service with the Air Force of the Soviet Union in 1956.
Over the years, and given its capabilities, the initial models of the Tu-95 were successively modernized until reaching the current step: the Tu-95MSM, which is expected to remain in service until 2040.
