Lollobrigida died in a private clinic in Rome, where she had been hospitalized for a long time after suffering a femur fracture in September 2022, local media reported.

Considered the last diva of the golden age of Italian cinema, she remained hospitalized after surgery. Her state of health then was complicated by different conditions.

Deserving many awards in her more than 50 years of career in film and television, Sophia Loren’s eternal rival accumulated during her career three David Di Donatello awards for best actress, four honorary awards and a Golden Globe.

Born in Subiaco, Lazio, Italy, on July 4, 1927, she was ranked as one of the most beautiful women in the world in the 1950s.
