Cuban Ambassador Jose M. Leyva met with those selected, commented on Cuba’s history, the current situation, as well as the characteristics and benefits of the educational system.
At the meeting at the diplomatic mission here, Leyva wished them much success in their professional and human training, as well as the vocation of solidarity that moves and unites both nations.
Leyva told the young people that “this scholarship program is another example of the Revolution’s generation, brotherhood with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean and the peoples of the world.”
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in early December, in the first stopover of a Caribbean tour that also included Barbados and Grenada.
“This visit will result in the consolidation of excellent political ties and will allow us to advance our cooperative relations,” the president stressed at a meeting with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.
