On his Twitter account, the head of State noted that at the meeting, held on Friday, the excellent state of relations between Cuba and India was reviewed.
“We also highlighted the potential to continue expanding bilateral cooperation, including renewable energy sources, agriculture, health care, biotechnology, education and culture,” Diaz-Canel added in another tweet.
According to the website of the Presidency of the Republic, Diaz-Canel emphasized the permanent support from the Indian Government and people for Cuba’s fight against the blockade imposed by the United States.
He also expressed Cuba’s interest in having India’s support to promote, from the presidency of the Group of 77 plus China (G77+China), the discussion of global problems and challenges faced by several countries.
For her part, the Indian Minister of State expressed her country’s will to continue strengthening existing ties.
Meenakashi Lekhi arrived in Cuba on an official visit on January 12, the first stop of her tour of several Latin American countries, including Guatemala, El Salvador and Bolivia.
