According to local reports, the Iranian foreign minister expects to meet with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati, several political figures, and representatives of the Lebanese and Palestinian parties.
Upon his arrival in Beirut on Thursday, the head of Iranian diplomacy restated his country’s support to the Lebanese people, army and resistance, in the context of a three-day tour.
The Iranian minister said the Islamic Revolution would spare no effort to help Lebanon overcome economic crisis.
Amir-Abdollahian also called on all Lebanese parties to speed up the election of a president for the Republic within the framework of consensus and dialogue so as to overcome the power void.
After his stay in Beirut, Amir-Abdollahian will visit Moscow next week to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to resume the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on nuclear deal, as well as an agreement on a bilateral free trade zone.
