Hungary does not plan to supply weapons to Ukraine and transport them through its territory from other countries, guided by the interests not only of its security but also the security of ethnic Hungarians in that region, Gulyás said.

Our country has a geopolitical situation. This means that we can transport weapons to Ukraine only through Zaporizhzhia, and we do not participate in deliveries, the minister of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office explained.

Commenting on possible deliveries of heavy military equipment to Kiev by other states, he noted that everyone wants to avoid a world war. The Hungarian Government has warned about the possibility of an escalation of the conflict.

On February 24, the Russian Federation launched a special military operation in Ukraine as a response to requested help demanded by the leaders of the Donbass republics.
