At the meeting, held the day before, the parties reviewed various issues of bilateral interest and identified areas with the potential to advance in strengthening relations, the website of the island’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs published.
The delegations, chaired by the Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Josefina Vidal, and by the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, Ximena Fuentes, also exchanged views on regional and international challenges.
Both representations discussed in the dialogue the historical ties that unite the two countries and proposed actions to promote bilateral cooperation and boost ties between peoples in spheres such as economic-commercial, cultural and sports.
The parties also highlighted the importance of resuming this space for political discussion, which allows for a comprehensive review of the state of relations between Cuba and Chile, the Cubaminrex website reported.
