The order was granted to Porto Parga, on behalf of the president, by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan, in recognition of his efforts in order to foster relations between the two nations.
This recognition reflects the ongoing work and effort done by the Cuban diplomacy in 57 years of relations between the two countries, the diplomat said.
He added that bilateral relations have their maximum exponent in political positions in the international arena, both in regional and foreign scenarios. Syria and Cuba work tirelessly to bring economic and trade relations to the same level of political relationships.
He reiterated that Havana has always supported Syria in all scenarios, the Syrian people’s right to freedom, independence, and sovereignty, and the country’s recovery from terrorism.
Ambassadors of countries accredited in Damascus and senior officials of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the ceremony.
