The establishment of an economic diplomacy consulting mechanism, research and training of diplomats and officials of the Laotian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, digital partnership, financial innovations, and communications, water, and transportation are some of the areas covered by the agreements.
The signing of the documents took place in the context of the two-day official visit started in Vientiane this Wednesday by Minh Chinh, who congratulated his counterpart on his appointment as a head of Government by the National Assembly on December the 30th.
Prior to the signing of the agreements, the prime ministers held official talks in which, according to KPL news agency, they highly valued the comprehensive cooperation between the two neighbors, especially in the political area, which continued to be strengthened.
Vietnam and Laos officially established their diplomatic relations on September 5, 1962, marking a new page in the history of bilateral ties. Three decades later, in 1992, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was founded.
