In 2022, Uruguay exported beef for 2.44 million dollars, and China took most of it, the institution dedicated to promoting the economy, investments, and image at the international level stated.
China, Uruguay’s leading trading partner, bought 58 percent of the exported product, followed by the European Union and the United States.
Despite this, the volume of beef to China decreased by 5.8 percent compared to 572,254 tons sold in 2021, a report from the National Meat Institute (INAC) stated.
Meat sales to the European Union, Israel, Japan, and Mercosur also fell.
