“Our enemies want to expand hardship and the economic embargo was their recipe to impoverish our society,” said Major General Hosein Salami, commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Salami encouraged members of the IRGC and the Basich Popular Forces, and assured that the Revolutionary Guards have among their priorities “building a strong and prosperous Iran for the well-being of the people.”
The general stated that the Revolutionary Guards began a war against poverty and deprivation, within the framework of their mission to guard the Islamic Revolution, and will continue with this battle until they have prevailed in all dimensions.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly stated that the sanctions imposed by the West, led by the United States, will not be able to undermine Iran’s firm stance and willingness to advance in promoting development in various spheres of society.
