We strongly condemn Sunday’s terrorist and fascist actions against state-run institutions and reaffirm our support for a democratically elected president, Cohen told Prensa Latina.

According to Cohen, these were unacceptable acts aimed at destabilizing a new government. Cohen, also serving as president of the France-Brazil Friendship Group of the Senate, said she issued a statement on behalf of her Group´s members in support of Lula and in rejection of Bolsonaro´s followers´ actions.

We hope that what happened will be investigated and no impunity for those responsible, Cohen stressed.
