Thousands of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro invaded and destroyed the headquarters of the National Congress, the Supreme Court and the Planalto Palace in Brazil on Sunday. Borón referred to these events by saying that what happened is something unprecedented in the history of Brazil.

However, he stated that “there were many signs that the radical right, whether neo-fascist or neo-Nazi, was unwilling to allow Lula’s inauguration as head of state to take place peacefully and orderly.”

He also pointed out that the Brazilian opposition is betting on a military coup and publicly accuses the officers of cowards for not “rescuing the country” from the alleged clutches of communism and gender ideology.

The same thing happened in Chile in the final months of Salvador Allende’s term (1908-1973). The recipe is the same, “made in (the United States)”: mobilize a segment of “civil society”, take the streets, trigger military intervention and overthrow the government.

He added that the pro-Bolsonaro revolt bears a remarkable similarity to what happened almost exactly two years earlier at the United States Capitol. The coincidence is not accidental, given the existence of a very active and financed neo-fascist international whose guru is Steve Bannon, a former adviser to former President Donald Trump.

Borón assured that the objective was to demonstrate how a group can seize at will the headquarters of the three powers of the State and, if some conditions ripened, make the Armed Forces carry out a coup d’état. He also warned about the possibility of repeated actions of this type.
