With the arrangement to end the hostilities, a period of stability and the reestablishment of public services has begun, which has regenerated interest in traveling to the northern regions of the country, a statement from the Ministry assured.
The states of Afar, Amhara and Tigray, the most affected by the war that began in November 2020, attract tourists due to their antiquity, cultural, religious and archaeological importance, among other characteristics.
Over a quarter million tourists visited Ethiopia in the first three months of the year, Minister of State for Tourism Selamawit Dawit recently told the Ethiopian News Agency.
She added that the number of visitors will grow “because the government has been working hard on the formulation of policies and strategies to develop the sector.”
