The vaccine, which protects from original strain of SARS-CoV-2 and Omicron variant, is given to healthcare workers, the elderly and people aged over 12 suffering from chronic diseases.
So far, 20.38% of vulnerable population (about 5,732,000) has been vaccinated.
“The pandemic is not over yet and we have to learn how to live with this virus,” said Aguilera.
She also recalled Chile advanced to the opening phase past October, and after such a decision fresh coronavirus waves showed up, but thanks to domestic vaccination campaign and health protocol warnings, the country has not reported large number of serious cases, nor stress in hospitals.
